Electronic music fans share much with vinyl collectors, drawn to the rare, the authentic, and the experiences that capture the thrill of discovery. Christopher Coe exemplifies this ethos more than most. Giving few interviews, he lets his music take centre stage, crafting immersive, one-of-a-kind experiences that exist entirely offline. His latest project, Modular Lounge, offers a private, site-specific performance that demonstrates why he is regarded as one of the most inventive and enigmatic figures in contemporary live electronic music.

Christopher Coe has consistently operated at the intersection of innovation and intimacy within techno. As a producer, live performer, and sound designer recognised for pushing sonic boundaries, he has collaborated widely with Carl Cox and co-founded the experimental electronic label Awesome Soundwave. Modular Lounge represents a distinct departure. Coe has established a reputation as a need-to-know, invite-only artist, delivering hypnotic and intimate performances that are shaped entirely by the moment and the environment.

Modular Lounge offers audiences a chance to leave the chaos behind and enter a space defined by texture, tone, and presence. Raw, improvised, and profoundly human, Coe performs entirely on a modular setup, crafting hypnotic soundscapes that develop in real time. Each session is an unrehearsed, site-specific composition, shaped by the energy of the room, ensuring that no two performances are alike. Most recently, Modular Lounge took place at a secret location in Ibiza, continuing the project’s tradition of immersive, invite-only events. The experience remains entirely offline, with no livestreams or social media coverage, leaving only the sound, the space, and the audience. This is not a show; it is an encounter.

Melbourne-born and Irish-raised, Coe has performed at festivals worldwide, including Kappa Futur, Awakenings, and Glastonbury. He has held a residency at DC10 Ibiza and played iconic spaces from HÖR to Sisyphos Berlin and Sala Sonora Bilbao. His collaborations include Reggie Watts, Mad Professor, Reinier Zonneveld, and Stelarc, while back-to-back performances with KiNK, Colin Benders, and Carl Cox have cemented his reputation as a live innovator. Alongside Cox, he co-produces live shows and co-founded Awesome Soundwave, a label dedicated to live electronic music.

At his core, Christopher Coe is driven by one purpose: performing techno live. Modular Lounge marks the next stage in his pursuit of music that is unrepeatable, immersive, and vibrant, reshaping the possibilities of live electronic music for audiences who value presence, intimacy, and the thrill of discovery.
