French electronic artists Angara have unveiled their emotive new single ‘Before We Forget’, featuring London-based singer-songwriter bailey. The single serves as the title track for their upcoming debut album, set to be released on Berlin-based Embassy One.
Combining uplifting beats, atmospheric tones and intricate melodies, ‘Before We Forget’ showcases the progressive sound Angara are developing. It has a reflective feel but also has a drive behind it, using clubbing vibes. The song delves into themes of nostalgia, memory and fragile human connections. This single was an important piece for Angara as it was the first song they knew would be on their album. Whilst it did not dictate the sound of the whole album, it created the emotion the album would be built around.
“We wrote this as an ode to the presence of someone we love, but never actually meet. Someone who is made up of people’s stories but somehow gets closer. It is our starting point for this chapter of uncertainty, emotional exploration and progression.”
The single comes hot on the heels of two previous singles on Embassy One. Firstly, they released ‘Out at Sea’ featuring Austrian vocalist Ren Ocean in late 2025. The track featured cinematic melodies and hypnotic beats, exploring themes of first love, freedom and connection. It was a new direction for the duo. They followed this up earlier this year with ‘Forgive You’. A more club-oriented track featuring vocal sampling from Estonian-Swiss singer-songwriter Ingrid Lukas. The track had a driving beat exploring themes of forgiveness, reconciliation and letting go. This showed how they can create meaningful songs whilst keeping them club-oriented.
Their upcoming album, ‘Before We Forget ’, has taken them three years to create. It features songs they have written at different points in their lives. The album features a mix of self-discovery, personal turmoil and acceptance. The name came after they had written the music. Looking back on the album, they could see there was a common theme throughout all the tracks. They wanted to keep who they are. Since their breakthrough with their ‘Rwanda’ EP on Monstercat Silk in 2021, Angara have amassed over 70 million streams globally and performed on stages throughout Europe. With their debut album, they are combining all their years of growth into their biggest project yet. Ultimately, their album is about identity, progression and memories. Using their title track, they introduce you to an album that celebrates life’s uncertainty but holds on to the moments, people and feelings that make us who we are.
