Thirty years is a long time to keep the rooms full, and the ADE 30th anniversary lineup confirms that Amsterdam Dance Event has not spent those decades standing still. Running from 21 to 25 October across hundreds of venues throughout Amsterdam, the 2026 edition lands with more than 1,000 events, more than 3,300 artists, and a programme architecture that spans underground club culture, large-scale live performance, interdisciplinary art, and the ADE Pro industry conference. For anyone paying attention to how electronic music has matured as a cultural force, this feels less like a celebration and more like a reckoning with just how much ground has been covered.

The Amsterdam Dance Event artists confirmed across the first announcement wave alone numbered over 350, and the names signal exactly where the programme’s priorities sit. Avalon Emerson, Jeff Mills, Eris Drew, Shanti Celeste, Helena Hauff, Octo Octa, Jyoty, MCR-T and ISAbella were among the initial wave, a list that skews resolutely toward artists who have built their reputations in the rooms rather than on festival mainstages. Subsequent additions have continued in the same direction: Donato Dozzy, Hunee, Midland, Anz, Peach, livwutang and Angel D’Lite all feature in the expanded programme. These are not names thrown in for reach. They are names that mean something to people who actually buy records.

Beyond the ADE club nights 2025 core, the larger-scale events carry their own weight. Skepta returns with an expanded Más Tiempo show at Warehouse Elementenstraat. KI/KI headlines two nights at Ziggo Dome with her five-hour show, KI/KI 5 HOURS. Jean-Michel Jarre serves as guest of honour, opening the event with a concert at AFAS Live on 21 October and appearing at ADE Pro for a keynote interview, a fitting choice given that October also marks the 50th anniversary of his landmark Oxygène album.

The special commissions built around the 30th year deserve attention on their own terms. At the Gashouder, Swan Lake Remixed brings together Dutch National Ballet, Junior Company and ISH Dance Collective for a production that fuses classical ballet, hip-hop, electronic music and digital art, with the score composed by Rik Ronner. Boris Acket presents EINDER at De Centrale Markthal, a sprawling installation built around an 80-by-25-metre moving textile structure shaped by light, sound and a series of fans. Its live programme includes the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra performing Beethoven’s Fifth Symphony on 21 October, followed by Elias Mazian with his live band the next night.

The 30 YEARS ADE Icon Series threads through the wider programme, selecting 30 events that connect electronic music history with current and emerging artists. ADE Lab returns in two forms: a three-day talent development programme for emerging electronic music producers, and ADE Lab Discovery, a free Wednesday-to-Friday run at Westerpark with open sessions, gear access and cultural programming. ADE Arts and Culture adds installations, exhibitions and interdisciplinary performances across the city. On the industry side, ADE Pro turns its focus to electronic music scenes in Brazil, the MENA region and Sub-Saharan Africa, among other subjects. ADE and VibeLab will also launch the first Nighttime Culture Index, examining the cultural health of nightlife across Amsterdam, Lagos, New York, São Paulo, Seoul and Sydney. Passes and the full programme are available at amsterdam-dance-event.nl.
