Lumière Noire continues its acclaimed ‘Flash’ compilation series with the release of Flash Vol. 3, out now. Bringing together four artists closely connected to CHLOÉ and the wider Lumière Noire family, the latest edition offers another snapshot of the label’s ever-expanding creative world, where club functionality, artistic experimentation and cinematic storytelling exist side by side.
Opening the release, Awir Leon returns to Lumière Noire following his celebrated remix for Louen Poppé, delivering ‘Hatsukoi,’ a hypnotic fusion of minimal and techno built around rolling percussion, evolving grooves and subtly shifting melodic detail. Rather than relying on dramatic breakdowns, the track unfolds as a continuous journey, drawing listeners deeper through intricate rhythmic movement and imaginative sampling. Longtime friend of CHLOÉ and one half of acclaimed duo Aswefall, Clément ASWF follows with ‘Music Is Stranger Without A Name,’ an analogue-rich meeting point between downtempo electro and deep house. Clement’s single will be released as a teaser to the VA on the 4th September. Dreamlike vocals, fluid harmonic movement and expressive synth work create an effortlessly immersive piece that feels both deeply emotional and unmistakably underground.
On the flip side, respected engineer and producer Don Turi, whose recent work includes mixing Maud Geffray’s latest EP, contributes ‘Time Signature,’ a stripped-back yet remarkably spacious techno cut where hypnotic groove, subtle textures and careful restraint generate maximum impact. Closing the collection is Neurotypique, whose visual identity has become inseparable from CHLOÉ’s current artistic direction through his animations for Shape Of The Unknown and forthcoming live show. His contribution, ‘The Gates,’ ventures furthest beyond conventional club structures, blending broken rhythms, melancholic ambience and experimental electronica into a deeply cinematic finale that recalls the emotional weight of pioneering leftfield electronic music while remaining entirely his own.
Together, the four tracks perfectly encapsulate the philosophy that has defined Lumière Noire since its inception.
